Fashion Film Lobster Party

London Fashion Week '21

The story of the short PETRA KOVACS´s fashion film Lobster Party works with imperfections hidden beneath the surface of our seemingly perfect world, people tend to overlook. It talks about social and global issues. Shows that even in 21 st century women are still placed with higher demands in society and that we still live in patriarchal world. With ironic exaggeration it illustrates how deviating from the system of absurd social demand can be liberating.

The plot of the fashion film was inspired by vintage czechoslovakian articles about how a proper lady should and should not act in society. In these articles women were taught, with nonsensical even absurd advices, how to look, how to eat, how to be a good wife for a husband, basically  how to live a life. Through funny scenes in this film, I demonstrate the importance of empowering women and girls in our contemporary world. It is very upsetting that, there are still countries in the world where women have no rights and no hope for the future nor own decisions.

The main characters of the film are two girls, who come from the underwater world and they have found themselves in our human world. Where they are trying to learn how to become a real human ladies and don´t always get it quite right.
